After Strasburg in 2001, Montreal in 2004, Paris in 2007, and Geneva in 2010, Madrid is hosting the 5th World Congress from the 12th to the 15th June, 2013. It is organised by ECPM, under the sponsorship of Spain, Norway, Switzerland and France and in partnership with the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty.
Focus on Iran :
The 2013 abolitionist meeting focuses on the alarming situation regarding death penalty in Iran. Concurrently to the presidential elections on June 14th, the 5th World Congress in Madrid provides a very eclectic dialogue to the abolitionist actors with the participation of important Iranian personalities:

Focus spécial Iran :
Le rendez-vous abolitionniste 2013 met l’accent sur la situation alarmante de la peine de mort en Iran. Parallèlement aux élections présidentielles du 14 juin, le 5e Congrès de Madrid propose aux acteurs abolitionnistes un dialogue éclectique avec la participation de personnalités iraniennes confirmées :

Después de Estrasburgo en el 2001, Montreal en el 2004, París en el 2007 y Ginebra en el 2010, Madrid recibe al 5° Congreso mundial contra la pena de muerte, del 12 al 15 de junio del 2013. Organizado por ECPM, con el patrocinio de los gobiernos de España, Noruega, Suiza y Francia, y en colaboración con la Coalición Mundial contra la Pena de Muerte.
Fijando el foco en Irán:
La cita abolicionista del 2013 hace hincapié en la alarmante situación de la pena de muerte en Irán. De manera paralela a las elecciones presidenciales del 14 de junio, el 5° Congreso le propone a los actores abolicionistas un diálogo ecléctico, que contará con la participación de personalidades iraníes destacadas:
· Shirin Ebadi, Premio Nobel de la Paz, 2003
· Marina Nemat, ex condenada a muerte
